Italian Film Club at Nerve Cinema, a series of ongoing screenings showcases Italian culture and Italian language through contemporary and classic titles from Italian cinema.
Music and power intertwine in Primavera, the directorial debut of acclaimed Italian opera director Damiano Micheletto, based on the 2009 novel Stabet Mater by Tiziano Scarpa. An ode to music, 18th century Venice and Art as a path to freedom, the film also shines a light on the prodigiously talented yet tragically forgotten female musicians of the period.
A talented violinist, Cecilia (Tecla Insolia), confined in an orphanage, meets Vivaldi (Michele Riondino) who becomes her teacher. Under his mentorship and through his music, she gains courage to break free from the life she was destined for and pursue her passion.
